Darkness in our lives represents any tribulation or harmful situation which we may be facing. It may be an emotional, financial or physical situation, or have to do with conflicts in the family or work. There may seem to be no immediate solution or way out, leaving one with great sadness and sorrow, or even depression.
But there is hope. There is a light available for us in our darkness and it is the light of Jesus Christ. More powerful than any other light, he can illuminate our path as well as making it straight. In his light we will be free to walk in abundance of joy. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
We will all face darkness at some point in our life, but we can choose to live in the light of Jesus. His promise is that he will never leave us nor forsake us, and he is preparing a place in heaven for those who choose to believe in him and follow him. In Jesus Christ we are assured that joy always comes in the morning.
Joy is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear more fruit.
